So here we go again with the 3d. Maybe it was actually a novelty in “My bloody valentine 3d” to see the axe coming out of the screen to get you, but since then it became boring and having the blood and guts in 3d being thrown at the audience is the cheapest trick to cover the fact that aside from the visuals this movie simply sucks. Ok, the music is really good too. Story? What story. They made it their legacy to create plot twists to plot-twists with a bit of twist to that too, and since it was a lot of people making those movies in the series, the story right now doesn’t make any sense. Well it stopped making much sense in part 2 to be honest. Right now it’s some random killings and some weird contraptions that would take years to make and transport but apparently anyone can make these. It’s all just stupid. Plain stupid.
The horror? Well we have the usual traps made from rusty old metal (how boring) and the usual amount of blood, gore and simple disgust. In the modern day horror / thriller movies we can see the americans taking two ways. One is making everything with new technology, super special effects, and that terrible 3d effect to cover poor story, bad acting and general nonsense and lack of thought. The other way is making another remake of another european movie. This is sad. They should understand that the REALLY scary things are the ones we DON’T see. The more blood is being thrown at us, the more “funny” or “stupid” it becomes. Not scary. This movie missed the point completely.
